Organizado por REDIAL, el Encuentro ha transcurrido en la
sede de la AECID (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el
Desarrollo) el 21 de noviembre de 2013, ha supuesto el un día de intercambio entre
las instituciones, bibliotecas, archivos presentes en la sesión (BNE, CIDA,
Casa de América, Biblioteca Hispánica, Museo de América,…), junto a una
representación de centros europeos que trabajan con fondos americanos.
La sesión,
además de permitir conocer más a fondo proyectos de digitalización en marcha
sobre fondos de intéres para los Estudios Latinoamericanos, ha sido también una
ocasión para debatir sobre algunas de las problemáticas en torno a la
preservación y difusión de un patrimonio que tiene un alcance iberoamericano. En el
Encuentro se han abordado diferentes ámbitos de la documentación: desde
el fondo antiguo a los materiales audiovisuales contemporáneos, de los documentos
de archivo a los materiales artísticos y etnográficos.
