Basada en hechos reales "El robo del siglo" cuenta la historia de un grupo de ladrones que asaltaron una sucursal de un banco en Argentina de forma muy inteligente. Se estrenó en Argentina y se convirtió en la segunda película argentina más vista en la historia del cine argentino: tras 8 semanas en cartel (interrumpido por el Covid-19) la vieron 2 millones de espectadores (la quinta película nacional con más espectadores de la historia de los cines argentinos).
Dirigida por Ariel Winograd (“Mama se fue de viaje”, “Permitidos”) y protagonizada por Guillermo Francella (“El Clan”, “El secreto de sus ojos”, “Corazón de León”), Diego Peretti (“La reconstrucción”, “La Señal”) entre otros.
Sinopsis
Viernes 13 de enero de 2006. Más de tres centenares de policías diseminados por el lugar aguardan la orden de Miguel Sileo, el negociador, que tiene la esperanza de que los ladrones que están en una sucursal del Banco Río en Buenos Aires den señales de vida. Los policías reciben la orden y entran: se encuentran con lo más inesperado. Como si fuera un acto de prestidigitación del propio Houdini, la banda de atracadores compuesta por Vitette, Araujo, De La Torre, Debauza, Marciano y El Gaita han desaparecido y con ellos más de la mitad de las cajas de seguridad que fueron abiertas y vaciadas.
El film clausuró el año pasado la 23ª edición del Festival de Cine de Málaga y obtuvo una gran acogida. Su director, Ariel Winograd participó en una rueda de prensa virtual desde Argentina y entre otras cosas comentó, “Es una película que en la historia está muy ligada al ADN argentino. Es un robo que todos recordamos. Todos conocen este épico episodio”.
